Why Pull Up A Chair Exists?
At Pull Up A Chair – Conversations to Thrive, we believe in the power of conversation. People move through life with stories, questions, and experiences that shape who they are. But how often do we truly pause to listen to ourselves and to those around us?
This space created out of a deep curiosity about community and connection. How do we build stronger relationships in our neighborhoods, workplaces, and towns? How do conversations spark new ideas, bridge differences, or reveal possibilities? How do we show up for ourselves and for others?
Faced with the question, “How do I show up in my community?”, I wanted to explore beyond what simply is and imagine what could be.
Curiosity invites questions, and questions often lead to conversation. Pull Up A Chair is rooted in that curiosity.
Take a moment. Pull up a chair. Let’s talk.
How It Works?
Pull Up A Chair provides a space for anonymous conversations. Participants may choose to share their name or identifying details, but it is entirely optional.
Take a seat. The conversation begins with a simple question:
How are things going today?Share what comes to mind. There are no expectations, participants are free to express their thoughts. Follow-up questions may be asked, or silence may be held for reflection.
Each conversation lasts up to 15 minutes. When time is up, an alarm will sound, and the conversation will conclude.
Respect & Boundaries. Conversations will be ended immediately if there is any sense of verbal threats, physical aggression, or unsafe behavior. No exceptions.
By choosing to participate, individuals agree to these guidelines.
Pull Up A Chair is a space for curiosity, exploration, and connection.
